Toni Kroos is counting down the final moments of his club career as he faces Dortmund alongside Real Madrid in the Champions League final. The German midfielder has lifted the “big-eared” cup four times with Los Blancos, and surely a fifth title with the club would be a perfect farewell for this elegant midfielder.

Meanwhile, Kroos’s teammate Jude Bellingham appears deeply regretful and hopeful that the 34-year-old player will reconsider his retirement. Bellingham shared: “Kroos is amazing, I think he himself has said this is one of his best seasons. You know, I’ve been begging him to stay at the club all year. I think that annoyed him to the point of wanting to leave. I hope they don’t blame me for that. It’s been really great playing with players like him.”

The former Dortmund star added: “One of my best memories this year is the trips to play in Europe. The whole team had to stay in the hotel for two days in a row, there weren’t many activities to entertain us. So me and my teammates just sat around talking to each other.

“We talked about previous finals, special matches, and I just sat there listening like a child. Listening to everyone’s stories has been one of my best memories outside of playing football.”

In addition, Bellingham praised his former club Dortmund, where the 20-year-old player shone and became a stepping stone to joining Real Madrid. He affirmed: “Externally, people are creating a scenario where I will face my old team and play at my home country’s Wembley Stadium. For me, the most important thing is when the match is on, I need to put emotions aside. There are a lot of people at my old club whom I deeply respect; they gave me the opportunity to play at the highest level ahead of anyone else.”
