Scotland national team announces EURO 2024 squad

(Scotland’s Euro 2024 Squad List) – Scotland national team has officially announced the preliminary squad list for Euro 2024, including familiar names like McTominay, Andrew Robertson, and John McGinn.

On the afternoon of May 22nd, the Scotland national team officially announced the preliminary squad of 28 players who could participate in Euro 2024.

There were no surprises as two top stars, Scott McTominay from Manchester United and Andrew Robertson from Liverpool, both made the list. Meanwhile, the player performing well at Aston Villa, John McGinn, is also included.

With 28 players, Coach Steve Clarke will have to remove 2 names in the near future to meet UEFA’s requirement (only 26 players are allowed to participate).

Scotland has never advanced past the group stage of a Euro tournament. At the upcoming tournament hosted in Germany, the team’s sole goal is to make their first-ever appearance in the knockout stages.

At present, Scotland has transformed into an entirely different team. In the qualifiers, they secured second place in the “group of death” after impressive victories against big names like Norway and Spain. Moreover, the Scotland national team is expected to receive enthusiastic support from a large number of fans when playing in Germany.

Coach Steve Clarke’s team will have the honor of kicking off the tournament against host nation Germany in Munich. Following that, they will face Switzerland and Hungary in Group A. This is not an easy group, but with the possibility of advancing to the Round of 16 as a third-place team, the ticket to progress is still within reach for Steve Clarke’s squad.
