In recent days, news has spread across Europe about Jose Mourinho’s strong desire to secure the services of Jadon Sancho. Almost immediately, Fenerbahce initiated contact with the 2000-born star’s representative and Manchester United’s management for an official deal.
Recently, Sportskeeda reported that discussions have been progressing smoothly, and everything seems to be heading in the right direction. Turkish news agency Sabah also noted that progress has been made because the Turkish club accepted a swap request. Specifically, the Red Devils wanted Fenerbahce’s full-back Ferdi Kadıoğlu to move in the opposite direction, which was a prerequisite condition.
Fenerbahce initially demanded €35 million for their defender, while Manchester United offered only €10 million. Meanwhile, United’s initial asking price for Jadon Sancho was €50 million. According to Sabah, the large discrepancy in the initial offers was just a formality during the first meeting. The actual value of both players is expected to change, with more detailed and clear agreements if the swap deal is finalized.
Currently, Jadon Sancho has returned to training at Manchester United’s Carrington Training Centre after his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund ended. The “blockbuster signing” once carried great expectations from Red Devils fans, but it remains unclear if he has reconciled with Erik Ten Hag after last season’s issues. Local reports suggest that the relationship is challenging to mend, which is why United is open to negotiating this swap deal with Fenerbahce.
