Man United star injured, faces significant risk of missing Euro 2024
2 min readMan United star injured, Midfielder Scott McTominay has been spotted struggling to move comfortably during this short break, raising concerns that the Manchester United player may missing Euro 2024.
After playing the full 90 minutes in the FA Cup final, Scott McTominay was substituted by coach Erik ten Hag for Mason Mount. While leaving the field, the Scottish player appeared uneasy and seemed to have picked up some sort of injury.
Following Manchester United‘s victory over Manchester City to clinch the FA Cup, Scott McTominay is currently enjoying a vacation in Ibiza with friends, including former Red Devil Michael Carrick. However, there’s concern among Scottish fans as the 27-year-old seems to be moving with difficulty.
A video clip shows McTominay sitting by a pool at a luxurious hotel in the Balearic Islands with a visibly uncomfortable expression. In the video, McTominay appears to be showing Carrick that he is still experiencing pain in his right leg.
This has sparked worries among Scotland supporters as McTominay is a pivotal player who cannot easily be replaced, expected to shine at Euro 2024. In response to the news, fans have left comments expressing their concerns.
One person said, “Stay strong. Can’t afford to lose you to a serious injury.”
Another commented, “Get to Scotland’s training camp quickly!”
A third shared, “I see Diogo Dalot is at FI Monaco. Just weird that less than 24 hours after winning, they’ve all flown elsewhere. Hardly any time to celebrate with the team.”
Apart from the fans, Scotland’s head coach Steve Clarke is undoubtedly concerned about McTominay’s physical condition, given that he contributed 7 goals in 10 matches during the Euro 2024 qualifiers for “The Tartan Army.”
It remains uncertain whether McTominay will be fit to play in Scotland’s upcoming friendly matches against Gibraltar and Finland, and if the 27-year-old fails to recover in time, it could be a significant setback for Scotland at Euro 2024.
